Hands of the farmer
stir the earth
with cutting plow and disk,
then add a bit of
seasoned seed
to brew a harvest feat.
With cultivated expertise
he thus combines the toil
(ingredient of time and rhyme)
to fabricate the soil.
Never could a labor claim
more kinship with the earth
than hands that yield from
fallowed field
the essence of its worth.
